Invisalign is the alternative to traditional wire braces at Glen Dental in Leicester. It uses transparent (almost invisible) removable teeth aligners which are custom designed to incrementally adjust your teeth to the desired position.
Often called “invisible braces”, Invisalign aligners are almost invisible at a social distance so you can smile normally because people won’t even know the aligner is there. Invisalign is much more comfortable than traditional braces and more convenient. As Invisalign is removable, you can eat, brush and floss your teeth as you normally would.

Once we have determined that Invisalign is right for your needs, we will develop a detailed treatment plan from which your bespoke, virtually invisible aligners will be made to order.
The impressions of your teeth will be digitised in order for our dentist to work with a computerised 3D image of your teeth. Then, our dentist will plan your tooth movements throughout your entire treatment timeline.
You will be able to see a virtual representation (ClinCheck) of your teeth before, during, and after completion of the Invisalign process so you can see what your smile will look like when your treatment is complete.
Once you have approved your ClinCheck and treatment plan, bespoke clear aligners are custom-made for you, each of which have to be worn for approximately two weeks before you switch to the next aligner in the series. Your dentist will instruct you on how to take the aligners in and out of your mouth and how to look after them.

Invisalign uses virtually invisible clear aligners to straighten your teeth whereas traditional braces often use metal wires and brackets. Not only is Invisalign more comfortable, it also looks so much more appealing to the eyes.
Most people will tend to feel a little discomfort for the first few days with each new set of Invisalign aligners. This is a good thing because you want to feel a bit of tightness from the aligners, this means the aligners are doing what they are supposed to do: moving your teeth to the desired position, so of course you will feel a bit of pressure in the beginning. This slight discomfort or pressure is nothing compared to the pain that can be caused by the metal wires of traditional braces.
Every case is different and it will really depend on your particular clinical situation. Your Invisalign treatment plan is customised for you and the length of your treatment time will depend on the degree of movement your teeth require. Some Invisalign Go treatment times can be as little as 3-6 months. Now, that’s a clear aligner system that’s both efficient and effective
Invisalign Go treatment time can be as short as 3-6 months whereas the original Invisalign treatment time may require 2-3 years. Invisalign Go is also a lower cost option.
NO. Only dentists who have completed specialised training and are accredited can become qualified Invisalign providers. In fact, Glen Dental is proud to be one of the first qualified Invisalign Go providers in Leicestershire
It depends on how good you want your result to be. We generally advise our patients to wear their Invisalign clear aligners for at least 20-22 hours a day. The aligners should only be removed for eating, brushing and flossing. Ultimately, the more precisely you follow our instructions on wearing your aligners the shorter your treatment time will be.
Of course! This is the beauty of the Invisalign clear aligner system compared to traditional braces, it works around your lifestyle rather than disrupts it. As long as you remove your Invisalign aligners before you eat and drink, you can continue to enjoy all the good things in life and wine and dine as you wish. However, to prevent bad breath and poor hygiene, it is advisable to brush and floss your teeth after every meal before inserting back your clear aligners.
Usually about once every 4 to 8 weeks, depending on your progress, just to make sure that your treatment is going well and according to plan.
In the beginning of your Invisalign treatment you might not be used to having the aligner in your mouth so some “s” and “z” sounds might be hard to pronounce. After a few days, you will quickly get used to it and your tongue and mouth will adapt to the aligners to allow you to speak normally.
Your Invisalign aligners are custom-made for you only so they are designed to fit your teeth snugly. They will not fall out by accident when you talk, laugh or sleep.
You might not be completely satisfied with your result after your orthodontic treatment using traditional braces. Or you might find that your teeth have relapsed after the removal of your braces for some time. In either case, Invisalign is the perfect solution for you to re-align your teeth once again without the need to put traditional metal braces back on.
