How does it work?
Our bodies naturally produce a substance called Hyaluronic Acid that keeps our skin firm and plump. However, production of Hyaluronic Acid diminishes as we get older. To replace lost Hyaluronic Acid, dermal fillers have been specially created which allow to fill in lines, wrinkles, and facial hollows in a smooth, natural looking manner. Some of the most popular gel fillers are Juvederm and Restylane. Juvederm is commonly used to plump thin lips, minimize the appearance of marionette lines, smoker’s lines, and nasolabial folds. Restylane and Juvederm are good for lip enhancement and lip border definition, and the jowl area. In addition, dermal fillers can also be used to improve the appearance of scars or dents on the face.
What will it involve?
Dr Lina Kotecha will inject small quantities of dermal filler into the areas where you have lines/wrinkles or indents. The dermal fillers of choice used are Juvederm, Emervel and Restylane. These fillers are the leading facial fillers available on the market and come with a built in local anaesthetic which makes the process relatively painless. It should take approximately 45-60 minutes and the effects are instant.
What are the results?
The beauty of dermal fillers is that they smooth out lines and wrinkles, producing an instant result that will leave your face feeling fresher and looking more refreshed than ever before. Most patients require one treatment and the results last about 9 months to 12 months.
Are dermal fillers safe?
Yes, as long as they are administered by a qualified professional. The dermal filler is completely natural, and over time, the dermal filler will slowly dissolve, causing no harm to you.
Are there any side effects?
You may notice a mild swelling/soreness straight after the procedure. This is a perfectly normal reaction to the injection and it will subside in due course usually within 48-72 hours.
Cautions/ Contraindications
Mid/lower face rejuvenation is not suitable for pregnant/breastfeeding women or anyone who suffers from severe allergies.

Aftercare
- Refrain from touching, rubbing or massaging the filled area for six hours after your treatment is complete
- Avoid exposing the filled area to extremely high or low temperatures
- Be careful whilst washing the filled area of your face
