At Glen Dental, we are delighted to offer the latest aesthetic treatments, including Fat Removal treatments under the care of fully qualified, highly experienced practitioner Lina Kotecha. Fat Removal treatment reduces stubborn fat deposits in notoriously tricky areas such as the stomach, outer and inner thighs, knees, backs of arms and the chin area.
Dr. Lina Kotecha qualified as a dentist in 2000 and developed a special interest in facial aesthetics, undertaking a host of further qualifications in dermal fillers, Botox ®, skin boosters, fat removing injections and thread lifts. She prides herself on her extensive qualifications and training achievements. She keeps abreast of all the latest techniques in aesthetics by attending regular meetings, conferences and training. In 2016, she completed the Masterclass in Facial Aesthetics run by the Faculty of General Dental Practitioners, which she passed with a distinction.

At Glen Dental, we care about the health and happiness of the whole patient, which is why we are proud to offer Fat Removal treatments using DesoFace and DesoBody under the care of experienced and qualified aesthetics practitioner Dr. Lina Kotecha. Eating well and exercise are ways in which we can control our weight and keep our bodies toned. However, sometimes there are stubborn areas of fat we just cannot shift.
DesoBody and DesoFace are the next generation of injectable Deoxycholic Acid or ‘fat dissolvers’ in this country.
Dr Lina Kotecha offers DesoFace and DesoBody state of the art fat-dissolving injectable products designed to help with reducing fat from difficult areas such as:
- Inner thighs
- Back fat
- Tummy/abdomen
- Arms
- Knees
- Tackles stubborn, localised areas of fat on the face and under the chin
- Improves the ‘double chin appearance’
- It is used in conjunction with dermal fillers for a more contoured jawline
Depending on the area treated and the amount of fat involved, several sessions may be required to achieve the desired result.
The active ingredient for DesoBody and DesoFace is Deoxycholic Acid, which is similar to other injectable treatments such as Aqualyx ®. The advantages of DesoFace and DesoBody are that they are conveniently separated into a face and body concentration so that side effects such as post-operative swelling is much less.
The treatment works by injecting an active ingredient, Sodium Deoxycholic Acid into the area of fat which then destroys the membrane of the fat cells. Fat cells targeted with this treatment are destroyed and subsequently broken down and absorbed by the body. If used in conjunction with a healthy lifestyle, the results of this treatment can be long-lasting and permanent.
When treating the body localised fat is reduced and skin firmness is improved. When treating the face, drainage of excess fluids takes place as well as reduced localised fat amounts.
This treatment requires skill with administration to obtain the best results. Injections may only be administered subcutaneously, avoiding muscular or dermal tissue.
DesoFace and DesoBody are very safe and suitable for most patients. However, if you are pregnant or breastfeeding, or have Type 1 Diabetes, this treatment should be avoided. In addition, some medications may mean you are unsuitable for treatment, which is why we take a full medical and drug history as part of your assessment appointment to ensure that treatment is safe for you.
